While watching TV one night, I had tuned into a segment about businesses and missed opportunities. They said that when buiness owners do not look or consider new products they usually miss out on a great opportunity. We know most flooring contractors get settled in with certain finishes and feel thet it is the best ever. However, if you do not look into the newer high tech finishes that would benefit the end user then you not only short change your business but the end user. We know change is hard sometimes, but the same old products do not equal the newer high tech products. Our finishes are higher tech and actually cost less. What do you gain by this? Better wearability easier to clean and it last longer and most of all, it cost less. This is why Loba is the product of today and they are all ready working on the future technology. They test their products for two years before putting it into the field.
We know marketing has a lot to do with what a flooring contractor sells but we have products that put their marketing money into their products. So be aware of what you are buying, are you buying a good product because of marketing, or a product that is better because they put there resources into making a better product for you? Don’t get me wrong there are good products out there but not as good as Loba or Absolute.

We get a lot of questions on Brazilian Cherry and we would like to share some of the characteristics of this exotic species of wood. Brazilian cherry will turn a darker reddish brown with time. Some of the things that may be part of the brazilian cherry is small tiny white spots. This is caused by the natural resin in the tree. You may get this and you may not, but it is part of the wood. If you have throw rug over an area after the floor was first installed, you may be taken back if you take the rug off after a short period of time. The floor will look lighter because the other areas were exposed to sunlight or a lot of lighting. Do not be taken back as this is normal. If you leave the area rug off for a period of time it will eventually look like the rest of the floor. If you put a Brazilian Cherry floor down 2-3 years ago and want to add more to an adjoined room it will not match up. Some of the reasons is because the old floor has been exposed to sun light or a lot of lighting. The other issue is new growth has a tendency to be more yellow until it is exposed to light. It will get darker but maybe not as dark as your other floor that has been down for a longer period of time. Remember it comes from a tree and the trees vary with age and growth. If someone tells you they can give you an exact match, i would suggest you find someone that knows more about Brazilian Cherry. You will have light and dark boards and then you may have a lot of light boards and few dark. The aging process will determine what the floor will eventually look like. We strongly recomend if you are installing Brazilain Cherry to do all the rooms at once. It is a beautiful species of wood and is hard.
Hope this help you.
Hand Scraped products are really nice looking but you need to keep a few things in mind. The first thing is if you ever need to resand your floor you will take out the hand scrapping. I have been asked about what if you have small kids, or bake a lot and the biggest question is can chairs be moved over the handscraped product. Well here is my opinion: If you have small children it is probably not a good idea to buy handscraped because they will scratch the floor over a period of time and again when it has to be screened or sanded it will remove some or most of the handscrapping. So why pay the premium if you could have it sanded off in a few years. Chairs can do the same damage if you do not have felt pads on the chair legs. Standing on a hand scraped floor can get a little uncomfortable because it is uneven due to the handscraping. Some people wont mind it but many will.
Now we are back to be charged a ridiculious amount of money to have it handscrped vs machine scraped. We would need to talk to you about the differences but the biggest difference is cost. We here pricing on treu handscraped and it is out of site. We sell true handscraped and our prices are reasonable but some people charge a lot more and you are not getting anything more for your money. We offer a variety of scraping and different type of edges and finishes. Some peole are taking big advantage of people who have money and they are ripping them off. You need to be careful of prices because some people are selling you a bill of goods. Our product is much less and you are getting the same true handscrape as the over priced product. Some installers offer you their in house handscraped and tell you why it is better and cost so much. It is not all true so be careful. We are competitive and we handle true handscrpaed products and we do not over price it because people have money. We can help you get the right products at competitive pricing and with the handscraped product our contractors are less. Don’t buy into higher prices being better because it simply is not true in many cases.
Most finishes are comprable but in our opinion Loba is high tech with proven results in the field. Most companies promote by heavy marketing to make it look like they are the best. How do the do it? Simple, they sell to distributors and retail stores and make money to advertise it heavily. Does it make it better? The answer is no. It is just a recognized name because of the marketing. Now,here is something to think about, you ask for a product by name because you heard it was good and that may be the case but there are products out there that are much better for less money. Loba is one of those products. I will take field proven high tech products any day over mass advertising. The other thing is that these companies with mass advertising charge more, how do you think they pay for the ads? Well our opinion with over 37 years in the flooring industry tells us Loba and Absolute coatings are great products and should be asked for when recoating or when new finish will be applied.

This new adhesive is something many installers wish was around a long time ago. This product is just what is needed. The CBR-970 Renevator goes over existing cutback mastic without having to remove the cutback!
Imagine the savings when you no longer have to scrape off the old cutback down to the bare concrete floor. Millions of homes built in the 50′s, 60′s, 70′s and 80′s used cutback mastic over concrete slabs as a fast, inexpensive way to glue down wood parquet, sheet vinyl, VCT, linoleum, and other floor coverings. Thousands of retail and commercial floors were installed with cutback.
Installers are aware of this problem and this will help them and you the consumer. Contains no isocynates to etch floor’s finish. Contains no VOC and is certified GREEN. It is also LEED qualified.
It is a wet lay-no flash time required. Many other great features with the Stauf 970.
