Hand Scraped products are really nice looking but you need to keep a few things in mind. The first thing is if you ever need to resand your floor you will take out the hand scrapping. I have been asked about what if you have small kids, or bake a lot and the biggest question is can chairs be moved over the handscraped product. Well here is my opinion: If you have small children it is probably not a good idea to buy handscraped because they will scratch the floor over a period of time and again when it has to be screened or sanded it will remove some or most of the handscrapping. So why pay the premium if you could have it sanded off in a few years. Chairs can do the same damage if you do not have felt pads on the chair legs. Standing on a hand scraped floor can get a little uncomfortable because it is uneven due to the handscraping. Some people wont mind it but many will.
Now we are back to be charged a ridiculious amount of money to have it handscrped vs machine scraped. We would need to talk to you about the differences but the biggest difference is cost. We here pricing on treu handscraped and it is out of site. We sell true handscraped and our prices are reasonable but some people charge a lot more and you are not getting anything more for your money. We offer a variety of scraping and different type of edges and finishes. Some peole are taking big advantage of people who have money and they are ripping them off. You need to be careful of prices because some people are selling you a bill of goods. Our product is much less and you are getting the same true handscrape as the over priced product. Some installers offer you their in house handscraped and tell you why it is better and cost so much. It is not all true so be careful. We are competitive and we handle true handscrpaed products and we do not over price it because people have money. We can help you get the right products at competitive pricing and with the handscraped product our contractors are less. Don’t buy into higher prices being better because it simply is not true in many cases.
